This page is about my 18 month stint as a stand-up comedienne... I started out in this area while I was working on Hospital Radio and Virgin Radio. I went on a Stand-Up comedy course at my local arts centre, The Tom Allen Centre, in Stratford, East London. Here, I was taught various techniques... from joke structure and performance, to how to use a microphone. It was run by a company called Zoom Vision and tutors included many comedians that are around and about on the circuit such as Rudy Lickwood. I originally went on the course to learn how to think on my feet, but I got more than I bargained for! After completing the course, all the students had to do a 10 minute set at a showcase. You can download a shortened version of my first Stand-Up performance and see what you think! Just click on the demo button below... 1st Gig! 1st Gig!Other people that were on my course have gone on work as professional comedians such as Jeff Davis, or as he's known on the stage, Jeff Innocent. Jeff had his T.V debut on the BBC's Stand-Up Show here in Britain in early February, 2000. He will definitely go on to great things! If you are in London, you can usually catch him at 'Up the Creek' comedy club in Greenwich. Alternatively, check out my links page for a site with listings. The gis is in the format of an MP3 file and can be played on WINAMP. If you do not have WINAMP, you can download it for FREE by clicking the download button below.
