Tsilivi...Tsilivi has that right combination of bars, restaurants & subtle entertainment that makes it ideal for older couples. However, if you are looking for a hotel make sure you find out exactly where it is, as there are a few on the steep road out of town and if you have problems climbing hills you might want something nearer the main village. It's on the northern costal road out of Zakynthos Town, so if you fancy popping into town one day for a walk round the harbour a taxi won't cost you too many drachmas.Transfers to & from the airport are a little lengthier to this resort so be prepared for a tour of the island, enjoy it and sit back & relax. Beaches...Tsilivi is blessed with a long stretch of golden sand that shelves gently into the sea, so you can walk out for ages and still keep your feet on the ground. Great for youngsters or people who are not as confident in the water. You can hire Pedaloes, Canoes & sunbeds can be hired for a few quid if you fancy being a bit more active in the water. Bars...That Bar (map ref 1) is popular and lively with the younger holiday-makers in this resort. A DJ plays the latest tunes and Trish will get you plastered... if you give her an inch! The bar is in the centre of the village & accessable to all. The Local Bar (map ref 2) has a homely feel to it. Bill & Sue run the place. It's small and friendly... just like your own local back home & Sue has a bit of a penchant for Glam Rock - you can tell, as she's a dead ringer for Suzie Quatro. They also try to get on a good range of Live Music and entertainments for you. The bar is up the hill on the outskirts of the village, so it's a little quieter if you enjoy a relaxing drink in friendly surroundings. Escape Bar (map ref 3) is a little more kickin'. With a variety of entertainments throughout the week, a good sound system and lots of space you can relax & get in the party spirit with a few cocktails. Restaurants...The Red Lion (map ref A) is opposite the Local Bar. I was extremely impressed at the quality of the meal I had here. Take a trip up one evening and you won't be disappointed. There's also a Sports Bar attached, so if you fancy an aperitif it's all there at your disposal. Although I have never been to Popeye's (map ref B), I know a lot of Tsilivi workers that have eaten there and recommend it. I do believe they have more of an English menu, so it's great to take the kids to, or if foreign food doesn't agree with you. Mikaelo's (map ref C) is on the very outskirts of the village and always seems to have a special potato recipe on the board outside. If spuds are your thing, this is the place for you... Map... |
