Out & About...
There are many things to do on the Island of Zakynthos. Whether you like to immerse yourself in the history & culture, go shopping or have a wild & crazy adventure, there's something for you.
A word of warning... If you travel with a holiday company the reps will try and sell you trips and tours. Think carefully before you buy these, as there are cheaper options that are just as good. In most resorts there are Tour Companies whose trips are excellent. I have been on a few myself. If you don't like the look of these, there are many companies along the Harbour Road in Zakynthos Town, where you can actually see the boat you'll be travelling on. You could also hire a car for a day or two from a local car hire firm. They usually offer full insurance (check this before you buy) and can be as much as half the price of the Holiday Company ones. I'm not saying that the Holiday Company trips are bad, far from it - they are usually of a very high quality, however remember that the reps are made to sell them in order to collect commission. If you want the assurances of the British company & don't mind paying the extra - go ahead, but it's always a good idea to shop around in order to find the deal that suits you.
